A Clue Scroll (Elite) is a valuable random drop from a large variety of high-levelled monsters. Clue scrolls are the start of a treasure hunt that sends players hunting all around RuneScape. An Elite Clue Scroll requires you to complete 8 steps to get your reward.

At the end of the hunt, players receive a reward of items randomly selected from a specific list, possibly including very rare and very valuable items. Elite Clue Scrolls are usually long and complex, But they can offer many valuable rewards in return.

You can hold onto as many of these as you would like, so you do not need to complete them as you get them.

The [[Ring of wealth]] and the donors luck effect from the health totem both work on raising your chances to get a Clue scroll as a drop but do not affect the rewards you get in the end.

= How to Obtain =
There are three ways to get Elite Clue Scrolls

==Killing NPC's==
Clue scrolls are obtained by killing certain NPC's, mostly bosses. They are a random drop and aren't dropped to frequently.

There is a very small chance that you will thieve a Elite Clue Scroll from the gem stall found in the [[Edgeville]] marketplace. You must havet level 99 [[Thieving]] to steal from the Crossbow stall.

==Clue Hunter Aura==
You can activate the [[Clue hunter]] aura, which will give the player a chance of gaining hard and Elite clues while skilling. This effect will last 2 hours.

= Rewards =
The rewards from the Clue scrolls vary from simple items such as [[Uncut dragonstone]]s to God Pages and Dragon ceremonial armour.

Elite Clue Scrolls will reward a player with 150 participation points and a random selection of 2-6 rewards shown below.
